I am an artist, poet, and ecologist based in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

I create to connect–with others, with nature, and with my own inner world. My art translates our unseen webs of interconnection onto the canvas, so that we may visualize and honor them. As an ecologist, I see how intimately related all of us beings are to one another, from the smallest organelle to the galaxy itself. Journeying from the abstract synesthetic realms of visualized self-perception to the devastatingly intimate Seeing of portraiture, my work illuminates our vibrant aliveness as part of the family of beings.

My art is inspired by my work as an ecologist and environmental educator, as well as my experience as a transgender man, community organizer, and farmer. My education includes mentorship in community gardens, a Bachelors of Science in Studio Art and Ecology from UNC Asheville, and the writings of Octavia Butler, Ursula K. Le Guin, adrienne maree brown, Mary Oliver, Peter S. Beagle, and many others.

I work in a variety of media, including watercolor, gouache, oils, and pastel. From small studies of the environment to large abstract portraits, I aim to celebrate the many ways that we can joyfully connect with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us.
